Carol Jean Stafford's Obituary
Carol J. Stafford, 81, of New Haven, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Bernice (Rohrbach) Johnson. She worked for General Telephone of Fort Wayne, Lake End Sales of New Haven, and Zemco Manufacturing of Fort Wayne. Carol was a member of the W.I.B.C. and participated in many bowling tournaments. She also enjoyed gardening and crafting for over 50 years. She was often seen at many craft shows and bazaars where she was famously known as the “Scrubby Lady.” She above all loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and grand pups. She is survived by her children, Kelly Cannon, and Brent (Amy) Stafford both of New Haven, grandchildren, Kaelen and Connor Cannon, and Brenna Stafford. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert “Bob” Stafford in 2023. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior (9-10 a.m.). Visitation is also 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024, at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne.
