Carl Koester Jr.'s Obituary
Carl Koester Jr., 94, passed away June 3, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Carl and Luella (Bruick) Koester. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and the American Legion Post #330, New Haven. He retired from General Electric after 43 years. He proudly served his country in WWII in the Army Air Corps. Carl like to work with his hands and built his own house that he lived in. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He is also survived by his wife of 60 years, Maxine (Gudeman) Koester; daughter, Sue Ann (Ronald) Kammeyer of Fort Wayne; sister, Kathryn (George) Bremer of New Haven; grandchildren, Ryan (Rhiannon), Megan, and Hannah Kammeyer. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cara Lynn Koester; siblings, Edward Koester and Mary Lou Spohr.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the church.
