Carl S Ehinger's Obituary
Carl S. Ehinger, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Town House Retirement Center, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Amelia (Bruder) Ehinger. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven and the Holy Name Society. He served his country in the US Army and was a lifelong farmer, who retired in 1997. Carl enjoyed woodworking and he loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Naureen; children, Brenda (Scott) Kerns, Matthew, and Sharon (Rick Fearnow) Ehinger; sister, Julia (Walter) Trabert; grandchildren, Meghan, Alyson, and Amber Neff, and Joshua Ehinger; great grandchildren, Aiden and Remi Vaillancourt. He was also preceded in death by his son, Evan Ehinger in 2018; sisters, Marcella Scheiner, Charlotte Mourey, and Virginia Brames.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, With a rosary service at 4 pm. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors. Preferred memorials to Arc of Allen County, Fort Wayne, or masses in his memory.
