Bruce Lynn Counterman's Obituary
Bruce Lynn Counterman, 64, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne He was the son of Billie and Lorine (Scheumann) Counterman of Hoagland. He was a member of Emmanuel (Soest) Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. Bruce retired after 32 years with Dana Corp as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing, I.U. basketball, and golf. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is also survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Annie (Griebel) Counterman; daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Turner of New Haven and Leah (Andrew) Smethers of Fort Wayne; Siblings Lois (Jim Levy) Counterman of Traverse City, MI, Donna Jackson of Markle, Rex (Cathi) Counterman of Fort Wayne, and Tari Emenhiser of Hoagland; grandchildren Lily Turner, Talan Turner, Ayden McLaughlin, Tanner Smethers and Raegan Smethers.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel (Soest) Lutheran Church, 9909 Wayne Trace, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Josef J. Henning officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Church and the Hoagland EMS.
