Betty Jean Porter's Obituary
Betty Jean Porter, 92, passed away on Friday December 14, 2018 at Adams Heritage, Monroeville. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (Waltke) Rogers. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church, New Haven. She loved to cook, spend time with her family, and help people. She is survived by her children, Cliff (Diane) Porter of Pierceton, Michael (Mary) Porter, Bobbie (Dick) Hammond, Cathy (Paul) Martin, and Linda (Dennis) Bargerhuff all of New Haven, and Sandy (Ken) Presson of Fort Wayne; sister, Patricia Proxmire of New Haven; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2004; son, Mark Porter; grandson, Dan Hammond; great grandson, Mark Oehler; and brothers, Ed, Dick, and Gene Rogers. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lifeway Wesleyan Church, 7722 Moeller Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one-hour prior. Pastor Rick Fletcher officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
