Betty M. Read's Obituary
Betty M. Read, 84, of New Haven, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at Woodview Health Care, Fort Wayne. Born in Ebensburg, PA she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Pryce. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. She retired in 1990 from East Allen County Schools after 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post #330 Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (James) Hageman of Kouts, IN and Sheryl Read of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Christine (Jay) Cowger and Lauren Hageman; and great grandchildren, Grant and Ava, sisters: June Hubler of Niagara Falls, NY and Loann Shaughnessy of Derby, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Read in March 2011.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. The Father Adam Schmitt officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice.
