My sympathy to Eveann, Jeff and Debbie - Your mom was a wonderful person, a great neighbor and mom-next-door. She had a great smile and a kind word for everyone. She will always hold a special place in the Giant family. Love, comfort and peace to all.
Beth and Paul Kline

Jeff, Deb, Eveann, Angie, Teagan and the rest of the family, I’m so very sorry for your loss. My heart hurts deeply for you. I loved Bert so much! She was such a sweet woman.
I had the absolute pleasure of taking care of Bert while she was at her place in New Haven and while in the memory care unit at Brookdale for a transition period. She loved doing word search puzzles and occasionally I’d talk her into doing a board puzzle with me. She would ask me to help her find a word she was stuck on and be amazed at how fast I’d find it and say, “How did you find it so fast?” and then shake her head. 🙂
She didn’t like doing PT exercises but she’d give me “that look” look and do them anyway. So sweet. I loved it when she’d let me take her outside for a walk and get some fresh air and sunshine. She loved her sweets; ice cream, pie and white chocolate! I used to make her white chocolate chip cookies. She would say I made the best but I’m sure that wasn’t true. I loved the way she would say, “Thank yoooou!” when I would give her a “sweet” surprise. And how she’d thank me after getting her tucked into bed at night. Bert loved watching the birds and squirrels outside her living room window too. She always made sure I kept food in it. But most of all she loved her family. I’ve cared for many people and have never seen the love, care and commitment Bert’s family had for her. I grew to love Bert and her family very quickly.
Thank for the sweet memories that I’ll treasure forever. You are greatly missed. Rest In Peace ✝️️💞
