Bernon "Bernie" Joseph Huguenard's Obituary
Bernon “Bernie” Joseph Huguenard, 84, of Fort Wayne passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Clarence and Bernadette (Gerardot) Huguenard. He was a member of The Chapel, Fort Wayne and enjoyed his missionary work for United Methodist Church NOMADS. He retired in 1991 from General Electric after 40 years and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. After retirement, Bernie enjoyed wintering at Tree Lakes in Palmetto, Florida. Among his many joys were bicycling on the trails, fishing, camping, and yard work.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Virginia (Stoner) Huguenard; children, Michele (Phil) Dehabey of Fort Wayne, Larry (Betty) Huguenard of Summerville, SC, Kevin Huguenard of Fort Wayne, Phyllis (John) McGahey of Frisco, TX, and Patricia Huguenard of Ohio; siblings, Virgil (Geraldine) Huguenard, Louis (Lynn) Huguenard, John (Louella) Huguenard, Joseph (Phyllis) Huguenard, Helen Bandelier, Rita Fry, Teresa (James) Butt, and Judy Huguenard all of New Haven, Lavon Squier of Fort Wayne, Delores (James) Bowers of Poe, Mary Ann (Harry) Sumney and Regina Brunelli both of AZ, and Joan (Ross) Suttell of FL; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Passineau of Apex, NC, Nicole Bell of Fort Wayne, Connor and Sean McGahey both of Frisco, TX; and great grandchildren, Victoria, Alexandria, and Alivia Bell, and Riley, Nolan, and Ezra Passineau. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Allen Huguenard; and brothers, Robert, Donald, and Francis Huguenard.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rick Hawks officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in St. Louis Besancon Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Homebound Meals, Fort Wayne.
