Bernadine M. May's Obituary
Bernadine “Bernie” M. May, 101, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Beuter) May. She was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. She retired from Phelps-Dodge, as a bookkeeper, with over 30 years of service. Bernie loved the arts and enjoyed painting with several mediums including oil, watercolor, and china.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Gertrude Schuckman, Alice Sorg, Louise Tibbet, Irene Diek, Terry Cokewood, Helen Tippman, Grace Muldoon, and Jess May.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy E., New Haven with calling a half hour prior. Father Ben Muhlenkamp officiating. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a rosary at 3:45 p.m. Burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church.
