Berdena E. Roemer's Obituary
Berdena E. Roemer, 91, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Heritage Park Nursing Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Woodburn, she was the daughter of the late Julius Scholstrate and Lydia Miller Scholstrate Disher. The lifelong Woodburn resident was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Berdena retired in 1989 from Norm's grocery store in Woodburn after 37 years. Her focus was her family and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Berdena is survived by her husband of 73 years, Herbert; daughters, Linda (Terry) Klinker of Apollo Beach, FL and Karen (Robert) Brenneke of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Robin (Mark) Strasser of Leo and Terry Klinker of Columbus, OH; sister, Donna Coomer of Woodburn; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Ray Disher; sisters, Betty Sweet, Jean Caley, and Nancy Biggs; and grandchildren, Timothy Klinker, Andrew Klinker, Michael McConnell; and Dawn Feaster.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn with calling three hours prior to service. Rev. Tim Edwards officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Christ Lutheran Church or Woodburn Lutheran School.
