Barbara A. Seitz's Obituary
Barbara A. Seitz, 88, of New Haven, passed away September 20, 2014 at St. Anne Home & Retirement, Ft. Wayne. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary (Gelbaugh) Bricker. She was a member of Blackhawk Baptist Church, Christian Women's Club, Stonecroft Ministries, and Orchard Ridge Country Club, all of Ft. Wayne and a Life Master of Bridge with the American Contract Bridge League. She received her B.S. in nursing from the University of Akron. Barbara retired from Lutheran Hospital after 25 years as head nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence; children, Dr. Thomas (Helen) Smith, Leslie (Harold) DeVaux of Ft. Wayne, and Janice (Jim) Jamison of Noblesville; siblings, James (MaryAnn) Bricker of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Nancy Heckman of Belle Vernon, PA., 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was previously married to the late Thomas Dixon Smith.
Funeral service is 3 p.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitations 2 hours prior to service. Her brother James Bricker officiating. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association of Ft. Wayne.
