Barbara R. Metzler's Obituary
Barbara R. Metzler, 82, passed away on August 23, 2017 at Parkview Hospital – Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Germany, she and her husband attended Germanfest where they enjoyed dancing and celebrating her German heritage. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling the world and were members of the Fort Wayne Sports Club for many years. Among Barbara’s many loves were her flowers.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Patrick; sons, Thomas (Lisa) Metzler of Thornton, CO, Steve (Marianne) Metzler of Fort Wayne, Bob (Susan) Metzler and Richard Metzler both of New Haven; brother, Phillip (Ursula) Schipper of Germany; two granddaughters; and two step grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
