Arthur J. "Art" Pelletier's Obituary
Arthur J. "Art" Pelletier, 85, longtime resident of New Haven, passed Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Lutheran Life Village in Fort Wayne. Born in St. Paul, MN he was the son of the late James and Caroline Pelletier. He was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church and served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Throughout his life, Art loved airplanes, engines, and mechanical devices. Whether it was slot cars, HO railroading, water skiing, computers, or model airplanes, Art pursued his interests intensely and shared them with family and friends enthusiastically. He was an active and contributing member of the Flying Circuits Model Airplane Club, and an Indiana State Champion and former record holder in waterskiing. He retired in 1992 from Zollner Piston after 34 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty L. Pelletier; son, Michael (Christine) Pelletier; grandsons, Benjamin (Lucy) and David Pelletier; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Faith and her husband, John Kochendorfer.
Service is at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy East, New Haven, with calling starting at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to New Haven United Methodist Church Youth Ministries.
