Arno C. Stein, Jr.'s Obituary
Arno "Bud" C. Stein, Jr., 90, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Arno and Alma Stein, Sr. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. The US Army veteran served his country in WWII and the Korean Conflict, and was a member of American Legion Post 330, New Haven. He retired in 1978 from S&S Optical, which he founded in 1950.
Arno is survived by his wife of 19 years, Carolyn; son, Rich (Sue) Stein of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Richard (Kelley) Stein and Scott Stein; great grandchildren, Austin and Ashlie Stein; and sister, Wanda Shumaker. He was also preceded in death by first wife of 49 years, Irene; and sister, Laverne Ewert.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor David Stecker officiating. Calling is also 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne with military honors.
