Almyra J. Ahlersmeyer's Obituary
Almyra J. Ahlersmeyer, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages South Anthony, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Marie (Heckman) Voigt. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven and the Ladies Aid Society. She was the owner, with her husband, of R-A Business Service, New Haven for over 30 years and retired in 2009. She also owned Brew Haven Tavern, New Haven for five years. She was a member of the VFW Post 10006, Fort Wayne and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 330. She enjoyed traveling, watching her grandchildren in sporting events, vacationing at the lake, playing cards and bingo.
She is survived by her children, Bob (Barb) Ahlersmeyer of Fort Wayne, Rene (Tom) Ervin of Palm Beach, FL, Bill (Susan) Ahlersmeyer of Cypress, TX, and Hein (Jane) Ahlersmeyer of New Haven; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Harber and Carol Ahlersmeyer both of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert C. Ahlersmeyer in 2009; son, Edward Ahlersmeyer; and sister, Retha Miller.
Funeral service is 12 p.m. Saturday, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Scott Zeckzer officiating. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Lutheran Life Villages.
