Albert E. Jacquay, 92, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at Lamplight Assisted Living, Fort Wayne with his family by his side. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Irene (Giant) Jacquay. He was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, American Legion Post 82 where he was a member of the Honor Guard, and volunteered at the V.A. hospital. The US Coast Guard veteran served his country in World War II. Albert once owned and operated the Park House Restaurant, Fort Wayne, and also managed North Crest Bowling Lanes and Pro Bowl West before retiring.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marian (Scheiman) Jacquay; children, Albert "Butch" (Becky) E. Jacquay, II of Bloomington, Justina (Jim) Huhn, and Janette Jacquay, of Fort Wayne, and Nancy (James) Fitzgibbons, of Palm Coast, FL; 12 Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his siblings; Dolores Sholl, Roger Jacquay, and Howard Jacquay.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W. State St., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Father Ajay Tiru officiating. Calling is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a vigil at 7:30p.m. Burial in Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter, Visiting Nurses of Fort Wayne, and Masses.
