Albert "Rick" Cary's Obituary
Albert “Rick” Cary, 75, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Albert F. and Doris (Robins) Cary. He was a 1965 graduate of Northside High School, Fort Wayne. He served his country as a Green Beret in the US Army during Vietnam and was a two-time Purple Heart recipient. He was also a member of American Legion, AMVETS, VFW, and Disabled American Veterans. He was the owner and operator of C&C Enterprises. He was also a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 248, Masonic Lodge 739, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, and was a Shriner. He enjoyed living at the lake, country music, collecting and restoring classic cars, and watching westerns. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara; children, April (David) Brough and Shane (Liz) Cary; brother, Michael (Deborah) Cary; grandchildren, Timothy and Thomas Brough, Amanda Cary; nieces, Heather (Gary) Jauregui and Jennifer (James) Rice; and nephew, Ryan (Kristen) Cary. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to SCAN or Shepherd’s House.
