Albert Bowers' Obituary
Albert Lawrence Bowers, 86, of New Haven, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at home with his family by his side. Born on October 29, 1937, in Van Wert, Ohio, he was the son of the late Elmer and Edith (Marquardt) Bowers. He worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Company and later retired from International Harvester after 17 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #370, Lima, Ohio and Fraternal Order of Eagles #3164, New Haven, where he was a past president. He was an avid gun collector and a lifetime member of the NRA. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Jani (Mac), Jennie (Roy) Jordan, John (Karen) Bowers, Joan (Kurt) Knight, and Jerry Bowers; sisters, Beverly (Ned) Yingst and Lois Ann Lovinger; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren with two on the way; and two great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Lawrence; and siblings, John and Betty Jane Bowers.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E, New Haven with visitations one hour prior to service. Visitation is also 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville. Preferred memorials to the family, c/o Joan Knight or donor's choice.
