    Virginia R. "Ginny" Pickett

    July 30, 1917 - February 23, 2021

    Virginia Rose "Ginny" Pickett, 103, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Arbor Glen Independent Living, Fort Wayne. Born on July 30, 1917 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Goldie (Densel) Butler. She was a loving wife to her husband of 67 years, Herschel, who preceded her in death in 2005. She was a lifelong member of New Haven United Methodist Church where she was very active in the busy bees, circle, women's club, working in the kitchen, and rummage sales. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Waynedale and American Legion Post 330 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her sons, Nyle (Sue) Pickett of Coldwater, MI, Stan (Barb) Pickett of New Haven and James (Jane) Pickett of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Dennis (Cindy) Pickett, Denise (Mike) Cheviron, Todd (Ann) Pickett, Steve Pickett, Doug (Stef) Pickett, Josh (Jill) Pickett, Jake (Samantha) Pickett, and Nicholas (Emily) Holliday; 22 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, David Pickett; and great grandson, Austin Pickett. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. The service will also be steamed live on the Harper's Community Funeral Home Facebook page. Masks and social distancing protocol required. Visitation is also 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church with Order of Eastern Star service at 4:45 p.m. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to New Haven United Methodist Church.
