Paul, Tammy and I would go to different tractor shows in the area and he would talk about different tractors that his family had used through the years. It was always interesting because he would talk about how things had changed through the years. From the old equipment from the past all the way up to the GPS used with the new equipment.
He and I went to the Auburn airport to see the Wings of Freedom display which was several different World War II aircraft. We actually got to take a flight on a B-25 which he enjoyed a lot. Not sure that he was a great fan of flying but he liked the history of it all.
Paul was a hard worker and farming was in his blood, but occasional we could break him away from his chores to go do something else. Even if only to go to Van Wert for coffee or over to the Whippy Dip for ice cream.
