William A. Brotherton

William A. Brotherton, 84, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon. Born on June 25, 1937 in Muncie, he was the son of the late James and Jesse (McClain) Brotherton. He was a 1956 graduate of Wilshire High School and at the age of 16 he worked for Forrest Ripley's farm. He attended Miami University of Ohio for two years but needed to work. He served his country in the Ohio National Guard for four years. He married Betsy Brotherton on June 22, 1958 who preceded him in death in 2018. He was a foreman at International Harvester for 15 years and went on to retire from Weatherhead Division of Dana Corp in Antwerp, Ohio after 22 years. He was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church where he served in many ministries through the years. He was also on the board of the Rim Bus Ministry for 16 years. He loved camping, performing magic shows, and driving. He is survived by his children, Jon Brotherton and Sara (Brant) Harmon; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy Brotherton in 2020. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
