Thelma Irene Bruick

Thelma Irene Bruick, 98, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Cedar Ridge, Fort Wayne. Born in Winchester, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Sipe) Long. She was a long-time resident of New Haven. Thelma was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. She worked at Hardware Wholesalers in the advertising department. She enjoyed staying at the cottage on Lake George where she would fish, ride the boat, and snowmobile. Thelma also like traveling and playing euchre. She is survived by her children, Richard (Sue) Bruick of New Haven, Sandra Scheumann of Monroeville, Jack (Susan) Bruick of New Haven, and Linda (Larry) Shindeldecker of Florence, KY; siblings, Mary Clendenen of Fort Wayne and Marjorie Norton of Waynedale; 7 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Bruick; siblings Elmer Long and Ruby Norris; great granddaughter, Keya Bruick. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne with visitation prior 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. time of service. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the church or Heartland Hospice Care, Fort Wayne.
