Robert Orville Hubbart, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare, New Haven. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Clifford and Velma (McAninch) Hubbart. He attended First Missionary Church, Fort Wayne. The US Army veteran served his country during the Korean War. He retired in 1992 from Tokeim Corp after 39 years of service and was also a member of the Tokheim 25 Century Club. He also worked at L.S. Ayres. Robert was an avid bingo caller at Burger King in New Haven. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judith; children, Jeffrey Hubbart of Fort Wayne, Gregory (Julie) Hubbart of New Haven, Jennifer Gregg of Duluth, GA, and Jamie (Scott) Thompson of Harlan; siblings, Lucille (Richard) Kitchen of Springfield, MO and Carleton Hubbart of Kendallville; and grandchildren, Alissa and Ryan Hubbart both of New Haven, Matt Thompson of South Whitley, and Andy and Adam Thompson both of Harlan. He was also preceded in death by brother, Clifford Hubbart Jr.; and son-in-law, Richard Gregg. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Rev. Stephen Buckner officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Sunshine Network of First Missionary Church, Fort Wayne or American Heart Association.
