Melvin R. Doctor Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Melvin "Mel" R. Doctor, 80, passed away on March 23, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Woodburn, he was the son of the late Ervin and Mildred (Hormann) Doctor. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn where he was a chairman, elder, and served on the school board. He was also on the board of directors for the Financial Partner Credit Union. He retired in 1994 from BF Goodrich with over 32 years. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing, and spending time at their place on the lake. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bertha; children, Michelle (Mark) Runge, Randy (Pam) Doctor and Marilyn (Todd) Hissong; sister, Carol Zelt; and grandchildren, Nate and Dylan Runge, Joshua and Hannah Doctor, Jordan and Makayla Hissong. Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 9320 E., New Haven. Burial in church cemetery.
