David J. Schnelker

June 16, 1955 - April 3, 2022

David J. Schnelker, 66, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late James and Norma (Schroll) Schnelker. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. He started his career as a teacher and retired in 2009 as the Principal of Dekalb Central High School after 32 years in education. He enjoyed reading and traveling. David especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marta; son, Stephen (Jessica) Schnelker of Westfield; siblings, Michael (Raisa) Schnelker and Christine Schnelker both of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Meredith Schnelker; nieces and nephews, Dena, Andrew, Adam (Audrey); great nephews, Viktor and Reed. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 A.M. Friday, April 8, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a rosary service at 2 P.M.. Burial in the church cemetery.
